The Easy Rider Mk I II & III
MD Horseboxes' conversions are based on, but not limited to, the latest Renault Master or
Vauxhall Movano vans. Both vehicles come with a selection of powerful TDi (Turbo
Diesel Injected) engines - 2.2L(90 BHP), 2.5L(120 BHP) and
2.8L(110 BHP).
Power steering and excellent MPG with low maintenance costs make these vans popular choices for conversion. They can be driven on a conventional driving licence; only require a
standard van MOT; and all MD Horseboxes are supplied fully serviced, with Tax, 12 months MOT and one year warranty on the conversion.
The converted vans will comfortably carry two 16.2h horses in a rear facing position and have a genuine payload of 1.25 ton.
The horse compartment area (85” high x
83” long x 60” wide) is easily accessed via a spring assisted 2m wide side ramp, overlayed with non slip rubber and aluminum slats for easy loading and safety; and an upward opening
top door which gives some weather protection when the box is static. The internal horse
partition swings open for loading and has three adjustable positions
depending on the size and mix of horses to be carried; it is also
totally removable if required.
The front bulkhead between driver and horse area is manufactured from 11mm GRP, reinforced with steel box section and fitted with an internal slide opening window.
The horse
compartment is clad to a height of 1.2 meters with impact resistant
rubber. The floor is covered in marine ply and sealed
with a layer of GRP giving a completely waterproof compartment;
it’s then covered in heavy duty non slip rubber matting and finally, drain holes
are added to assist cleaning. Two large opening rear windows and roof vents are
fitted for light and ventilation. Internal lights are also fitted for safe loading
in the dark.
The two rear opening doors give easy access to either a Tack Box or Jockey Door to house saddles and bridalry and built to your requirements. Optionally a stove can be fitted to this area if required.
To complete the transformation the vans are re sprayed in your chosen colour and your selected graphics applied from our standard range. Customised graphics are also available, should you wish to add a personal touch and our experienced designer will be happy to discuss your ideas and costs with you.
